Animator

I graduated from International Film School of Wales in 2004 with a BA in Animation.

In 2012, I finished my MA in Visual Culture at Aalto University.

I have animated several short films, one music video and one promotional video. I like to work with both traditional and mixed media methods in 2D, especially drawings and sand.

Commissions:

Correspondents (2012)

Correspondents (link to website) is an international media service. I designed them a mascot and used it in several illustrations across the site as well as in this animated promotional video.

Viikate - Me olemme myöhäiset (2007)

I animated the opening titles and several short clips throughout this spaghetti western style music video.

Short films:

Hiekan muisti - The Memory of Sand (2007)

This sand-animated mood piece was part of a larger project and exhibition using and exploring the ballast earth of the old harbor town of Reposaari near Pori, Finland. It is designed to be played on loop. It was also used by performance artist Inari Virmakoski as a part of her piece 'No Torture Here'.

Falling (2004)

This mixed-media film was my final project for my BA. At graduation it won the Best Innovation award and has been since screened at numerous festivals around the world, as well as on Finland's national television. It has also been published on a dvd collection of lesbian-themed short films, Iron Girls 2.

Train (2004)

Another student film of mine, Train is a slow-paced story about waiting.
